Dictatrix rewards patient owners

Monday, November 7, 2005

The turf season ended with a flourish when all the last 4 runners ran well. DICTATRIX won nicely on her racecourse debut at Yarmouth which was just reward for the owners, Peter Hillman and Stephen Hodge, as they have been very patient all year waiting for her to run. She will now be put away for a winter break with a view to bringing her back ready to run early next year on the turf as she obviously handles soft ground well.

AT THE MONEY also ran really well to finish third in his first race in handicap company. He was not beaten far and the further he goes the better he goes. He should make up into a nice staying handicapper next season. ALLOUETTE ran well enough too and will continue to race on the all weather now and looks capable of winning races at her level.

In the final race of the turf season, ORCADIAN put in a really game performance to finish third on terrible ground. He had a real duel with the classy Day Flight, the odds on favourite, and just had to give into him near the line. He is definitely staying in training. This gives the yard a lot to look forward to next season.

Meanwhile the all weather squad will hopefully be make there impact soon too. SUNNY TIMES runs at Southwell on Tuesday in a 3 year olds only banded race. She is a winner so should have a chance at this level. TRANSACTION is entered on Friday at Wolverhampton in a 7 furlong 56-70 rated handicap but there are 91 entries and only 12 can run! He is extremely unlikely to get in but this is the only race of that type over the next 3 weeks. BLUEBERRY TART and RAFFISH are being entered for races on Saturday but again may not be guaranteed a run due to the large volume of horses wanting to run on the all weather.
