Elm’s Schoolboy is top of the Class

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

ELM’S SCHOOLBOY went to the top of the class when he recorded his first win at Southwell yesterday. Clive Ashby, the Headmaster of Elm’s School, Malvern,is part owner and breeder with Jamie Moore. It was particularly pleasing for them as they also bred the dam, Elm’s Schoolgirl and this is her first foal. The timing couldn’t have been better as her yearling half sister by Josr Algarhoud, is being sold at the Doncaster sales next week. James Eustace was not only in the headmasters good books but also Gay, his wife, as she is the other co owner of Elm’s Schoolboy .

ELM’S SCHOOL BOY will not be allowed to rest on his laurels as he is entered again at Lingfield on Saturday but may get balloted out. Otherwise he will wait until Tuesday at Yarmouth. Hopefully he can continue to top the class despite having to carry a penalty.
