James Eustace is hoping for soft ground at either Redcar or Newmarket on Friday so that he can run CHIGORIN. He has been in good form at home since his win last time out and has a choice of engagements. He is entered in a premier claiming race at Newmarket, which basically means the claiming prices are higher than a normal claiming race. The easier option for him would be in a 46-60 rated handicap at Redcar but the ground is the key to him, he does need soft ground.
Tomorrow at Leicester PRINCESS GALADRIEL is trying a longer trip of 10 furlongs for the first time. It is a bit of a gamble especially as her pedigree does not suggest she will stay but it is worth a try. ELM’S SCHOOL BOY also runs tomorrow at Southwell making a quick reappearance after his 4th at Warwick last Saturday. He has run consistently in his last 3 or 4 runs so is capable of winning a race when everything is in his favour. He has not run on the fibresand before but his sire Komaite has a good record with his all weather runners so hopefully it will suit him too.
On Saturday MOONSTRUCK is entered in a maiden claiming race at Lingfield. He has been off the track for along time so may need the run but has been working quite nicely at home.
