SCOTTISH STAR and SPA'S DANCER run at Lingfield tomorrow and both have decent draws. SCOTTISH STAR returns to the scene of his victory 10 days ago but will be running over 12 furlongs, a slight drop back in trip. This should not be a problem as he seems pretty adaptable with his trip and has decent form from 10 to 13 furlongs. What is important to him is a decent pace, it looks a competitive race and there are 12 runners so you would expect the race to be run to suit him. He is drawn in stall 5. The handicapper put him up 3 pounds for his win but Ryan Tate rides him tomorrow who claims a useful 5 pounds so in theory he is running off a 2 pound lower mark than when he won. The horse seems fresh and well after his recent win so he must have a sound each way chance.
SPA'S DANCER is having his first run since Royal Ascot last year. He has run on the polytrack before but that was over 2 years ago and he has clearly improved since then. He seems very well at home and should run a nice race but is quite a big framed horse and might just need this run after his break. He is entered in the Lincoln but we will see how he runs tomorrow before making the next plan. If he acquits himself well on the polytrack tomorrow he could be aimed at the all weather championships on Good Friday. It would be possible to run there and in the Lincoln. He is drawn 2 of the 12 runners which is a good draw over a mile especially as he likes to ridden prominently. He will be ridden by Luke Morris, one of the leading jockeys on the all weather this winter.
