FULNEY lost her maiden tag in convincing style at Sandown on Friday. It was a thoroughly deserved win as she has been in the frame in all her previous starts, she is a very genuine filly. It was particularly pleasing for her owner, Major Wyatt, as he also bred her. Hopefully she can progress from here and win again. There is an ideal race for her back at Sandown on 19th September, a mile handicap for fillies only, so that could be her next target.
The next runner is PENNYWEIGHT at Goodwood on Tuesday. She is stepping up to a mile which will definitely suit her. She ran over 7 furlongs at Newmarket first time out, they went very quickly early on and she never got into the race. She is definitely better than her finishing position that day. We wanted to run her fairly soon after that race and over a mile so she would get the beneift from the run so Goodwood on Tuesday was the only option. Hopefully she will put in an improved performance this time, it will almost be like her first run. She is a nice tough genuine filly for the future who shows a good attitude at home.
