The Boy bidding for Goodwood glory
Friday, August 3, 2012
A BOY NAMED SUZI runs in the 1 mile 6 furlong handicap at Goodwood tomorrow. He is stepping back up in trip but we have no doubts about him staying. His main target is the Ebor at York on August 25th over the same distance as long as he makes the cut. If he could win at Goodwood tomorrow he would get a 4 pound penalty which would give him a far better chance of getting in the race. It is hard to predict how much rain they will get there and if it will affect the ground significantly. Last year he didn't look as if he did stay 1 mile 6 furlongs on soft ground but it would take an awful lot of rain to make it that soft and the horse is a year older and alot stronger now. He proved at York last time that he handles cut in the ground so some rain wouldn't affect his chance. The horse stil seems to be in great form at home and thoroughly deserves to win a race. Goodwood tomorrow is hopefully a stepping stone to York later in the month.
