Viking Rose steps up in trip tomorrow

Wednesday, June 27, 2012
VIKING ROSE has been running over 7 furlongs and a mile recently but is stepping up to 9 furlongs at Yarmouth tomorrow. She did finish third over 10 furlongs as a 3 year old and it was thought that day that she didn't quite stay. She was dropped back in trip and has run very well since. On pedigree she is bred to stay further so it was always the plan to try her over a longer distance at some stage this year. Tomorrow looks an ideal place to try this as she really likes the track and the ground will not be too testing. VIKING ROSE likes a straight track and although she will have to go around one bend tomorrow, there is a long finishing straight. It is a handicap for fillies only which will also suit her and there are only 10 runners. She didn't realy get into the race at Leicester last time out but has been freshened up since then and is in good form at home. It will be interesting to see how she runs tomorrow.
