Torran Sound chance at Huntiungdon

Sunday, August 28, 2011

TORRAN SOUND runs in a 2 mile hurdle race at Huntingdon tomorrow and must have chance as he seems to have found his form recently over this trip. He was a good fourth at Stratford last time out in big field when they went very quick early on, he stayed on well in the closing stages. Hopefully with only 8 runners tomorrow they will go a more suitable pace and the track should suit him better that Stratford. The blinkers have been left off this time as the jockey felt they could be hindering him.He did win in them as a juvenile but he has won twice on the flat without them so it doesn't seem to make a difference to him. Now he has found his form and on a track and ground to suit he should run well again tomorrow.

WILY FOX faces 8 rivals on Tuesday at Epsom in a 12 furlong handicap, this trip and the ground should suit him too. The going is currently good/soft, it may end up being good ground but either way it should be fine for him. He acted well around Brighton so hopefully he will act equally well around Epsom. He needed his last run at Newmarket and the trip was too short for him so that form is best ignored. He has come out of that race well and will hopefully run a decent race on Tuesday.
