A few chances in the week ahead

Sunday, April 3, 2005

James Eustace is beginning to get his yard into top gear and has a few runners with chances this week . CHIGORIN runs at Yarmouth tomorrow in a competitive looking 10 furlong handicap. He has been going well at home and has a good draw, drawn 1. There are some horses that have been running on the all-weather which will have fitness advantage but the horse is really well in himself at home and has the assistance of Ted Durcan in the saddle. If the ground remains on the soft side of good it should be ideal for him

MISTER AZIZ needs a couple of horses to come out of the race, but is entered in a 5 furlong handicap at Nottingham on Wednesday. He ran well on his seasonal debut on the all-weather recently and if the ground remains on the slow side of good it will suit him. Kevin Darley rides him and he should be an ideal pilot

On Thursday LOCAL FANCY runs at Leicester in a similar contest to Warwick but against colts aswell as fillies. She has come out of her first race as well as one could have hoped and she has mentally gone the right way. She has not been an easy filly to train and it was important that she had a good experience on her racecourse debut as she could easily have gone the wrong way. The form of her Warwick race is working out well with the third horse finishing third in the Brocklesby at Doncaster last Thursday to 2 previous winners. For obvious reasons it would be nice if she could win.

MOONSTRUCK holds an engagement at Lingfield on Friday in a median auction maiden. However there are a few horses in the race rated higher than him so he is more likely to wait for a handicap at Beverley the following week.
