Considine contests competitive race tomorrow

Friday, March 11, 2005

CONSIDINE runs in a competitive 2 mile handicap at Wolverhampton tomorrow. He only has a weight of 8st 1lbs and with the able assistance of Martin Dwyer in the saddle he is expected to go well. James Eustace is not totally sure that the horse is suited by the all-weather but the horse is so well at home he thought it was worth having one more try on the surface.

MOONSTRUCK also runs at Wolverhampton tomorrow in a mile maiden. He has had one previous run, at Lingfield last September, when he ran very green but did show some promise. Unfortunately he sustained an injury after this so could not run again last season. He has done well physically over the winter so James Eustace expects him to run well tomorrow but it looks a reasonably hot maiden so he will probably find one or 2 too good for him. The draw will also not be in his favour as he as the outside berth, 13 of 13. In time James feels that the horse may be suited by a longer trip.

With the turf season now only 2 weeks away some of the horse in the yard are stepping up a gear in their training. Those most likely to appear in the first month of the season are ORCADIAN. WELCOME STRANGER, ARIODANTE, WESTER LODGE, RUBY WINE and RAFFISH. More definite race plans for these horses will develop over the next few weeks.
