Wily Fox Gone Away!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

WILY FOX duly obliged yesterday at Lingfield.  Jack Mitchell did well to get a good position from his draw but also to get WILY FOX settled as he can be keen in the early stages of a race.  He quickened well into the straight and was probably in front long enough for a relatively inexperienced horse.  This was only the 5th run of his life and the first time he had hit the front in a race.  It was great that many of the members of BLUE PETER RACING 10 could be at Lingfield for this win.  BLUE PETER RACING have had some memorable moments over the years but had not had a winner for a couple of years.  The partnership have been great supporters over the last decade.  However it was very sad that Godfry Eastwood, a founder member of BLUE PETER RACING back in 2000, had died the week before.  We all felt, in the Winner's Enclosure, that he was looking down on us; how he would have enjoyed WILY FOX's win!
