Wily Fox to Slip the Pack

Friday, February 25, 2011
WILY FOX looks to have a good opportunity to lose his maiden tag at Lingfield this afternoon.  He does need to prove that he stays 1 1/2 miles but he gave the impression at Wolverhampton over 9+ furlongs that he would stay further.  He stayed on well in the straight at Wolverhampton to keep second place without ever having a chance of getting a blow in at the winner to whom he was conceding nearly 2 stones.  On pedigree there is every chance he will stay.  He is owned by an enthusiastic partnership in Blue Peter Racing who deserve to have another winner.

TORRAN SOUND was missing from the news updates as we had no network connection recently and could not update the website.  He ran a fine race for a 4 year old in an all age handicap over 2 1/2 miles at Huntingdon yesterday.  He finished 4th having made most of the running with a long gap back to the rest of the field.  He jumped round exceptionally well for an inexperienced juvenile hurdler and there looks to be exciting times ahead with him over timber.  He proved that proper soft, jumping ground held no fears for him and thus he has form on most types of ground which is a very useful attribute.  He will eventually stay even further than 2 1/2 miles.
