SOUTH AFRICAN GOLD drops back to 6 furlongs at Lingfield tomorrow. He ran very well at Wolverhampton last time out and showed plenty of speed over 7 furlongs so the drop back in trip should not inconvenience him. He is drawn 10 of 12 which is not in his favour but he has run well from a bad draw before. The cheekpieces will again be applied purely because he wore them last time and he ran well in them then.
IRON CONDOR ran a great race yesterday, finishing second but beaten by another improving horse. IRON CONDOR was the only 3 year old in the race. He will be declared to run at Kempton on Wednesday, taking on his own age group, and will run as long as he seems OK. He is a tough horse who takes his racing well. He came home last night and cleared his manger and seems fine this morning so hopefully he will take his chance on Wednesday.
Obviously this cold snap has put any plans for the jumping string on hold until a thaw comes.
