GENEVA GEYSER has come out of his last race at Yarmouth very well so heads for Newbury tomorrow on a 2 pound lower mark. He ran a decent race last time out on soft ground and it was the first time he has run on a soft surface. He seemed to handle it Ok so shouldn't be inconvenienced by good/soft ground tomorrow. They have no more rain forecast between now and then so hopefully the ground should remain that way. He is drawn 17 0f 17 which is not ideal for a front runner but hopefully he can stay wide down the back straight and creep over to the rail before they reach the bend. As he is now back on a more reasonable handicap mark he should have a chance tomorrow.
VIKING ROSE makes her racecourse debut at Kempton on Wednesday evening in a 2 year old fillies maiden over 7 furlongs. She is a half sister to ORCADIAN and TIGER STAR, by Norse Dancer. She has worked quite nicely at home but it looks a red hot maiden. It is an ideal place to start her off and hopefully she can run a nice race. She is still a bit green at home but has some ability and needs to get on the track to learn what racing is all about. All the 2 year olds have been a backward this year so it is hard to make a judgement on them. It will be interesting to see how VIKING ROSE runs to get a line to the rest of the 2 year olds.
