Crashed !

Due to reasons beyond our control, that we do not pretend to understand, the website has been "down" since last Saturday. Many apologies for any inconvenience.
I am delighted to report that the runners during the week have all performed with credit.
STORMING REDD ran a very brave race at Folkestone on Tuesday. This was his first run in a handicap and first run over 1m4f. The pace that they run handicap races at surprised him and he was under pressure all the way but , to his credit, stuck to his task  very gamely and stayed on from the back to be "nearest at finish". Jockey Tom McLaughlin gave him a great ride and STORMING REDD learnt a lot but at the same time has come out of the race very well. He will stay at least 1m6f and quite probably further.
SOUTH AFRICAN GOLD finished third over 7 furlongs at Lingfield on Wednesday.  This was particularly pleasing as it was his first run since having a wind operation.  His return to form shows that the operation has been a success.  He might appreciate a step up to one mile and we will stick to the polytrack for the moment.
MARKSBURY finished fifth in a 1m1/2f maiden at Wolverhampton.  She had certainly sharpened up for her run over 7 furlongs at Kempton where she was outpaced for much of the race.  On Thursday she showed plenty of early speed, possibly a bit too much, but on form has progressed from her Kempton run.  She might prove best over a mile at Kempton round one bend rather than the two at Wolverhampton.
WESTER ROSS ran a great race in defeat at Kempton last night.  He was beaten only 1/2 length over 2 miles after a break of over 4 months.  This was his first run on the polytrack and it suited him although his next run could easily be back over hurdles, at Marken Rasen, later in the month.  His liking for polytrack will give us options in the middle of winter when the ground is very soft which probably does not suit him.  He has taken the race very well.  He also was given a very good ride by Joe Fanning.
