Torran runs a Sound race

Sunday, July 18, 2010

TORRAN SOUND ran a brave race in defeat at Market Rasen yesterday finishing fourth. He did rather spoil his own chances by pulling too hard in the early stages of the race.  Probably the blinkers, which he has only ever worn to sharpen him up, need removing.  His jumping is very sound for a young horse and he stayed on well in the closing stages without being able to defy the 6 pound penalty for his win at the course last time.  He did show that he has a future jumping and in this sphere will stay further when the opportunity arises.  He remains capable of winning on the flat but probably will need 2 miles+ to be at his best.
