Orcadian back to form at Newmarket

Monday, October 18, 2004

ORCADIAN ran a great race at Newmarket on Saturday to finish a close 5th in a very competitive group 3 race. Like his brother, Rapscallion, he handled the soft ground very well and he is entered again this Saturday at Newbury. He has a choice of engagements there, the St Simon Stakes, a group race over 12 furlongs and a 0-100 handicap over 10 furlongs. James will look at the entries before deciding which race he runs in.

HIGH CARD who was 6th at Wolverhampton last Saturday, may also run at Newbury on Saturday in another mile maiden. He is a horse that seems to be going the right way and this will be his first experience of running on turf. MISTER AZIZ could accompany them to Newbury if he gets into the 6 furlong nursery . He missed the cut for the sales race at Newmarket last week so is looking for compensation elsewhere.

ELM’S SCHOOL BOY is running at Wolverhampton on Tuesday over 6 furlongs. This trip should suit him better than his previous outing over 5 furlongs. He should run respectably but this will be his last race this season. He will be given a break and will hopefully make up into a nice tough handicapper next year.

GENEROUS MEASURE makes her racecourse debut at Brighton on Thursday. She came into training very late in the year and is still very green so will definitely need the race. She is by Largesse and they tend to need time and she looks to be typical of her sire. MISSED TURN has now been balloted out 3 times which is rather frustrating for her connections. She is very well and seems to have improved at home so could run well when she finally gets into a race somewhere. She has several entries this week.

BLUE PETER RACING 6 has just been launched and they bought a yearling at the Newmarket sales last week. They purchased a smart looking Piccolo filly who looks a real 2 year old type. For further details on the filly and how to join BLUE PETER RACING 6 please refer to the Blue Peter website via the links page.
