Salden Licht chance on final day of turf season

Thursday, November 5, 2009
SALDEN LICHT runs in the November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday, the final big handicap of the turf season. He ran a really good trial at Newbury last time out and although he is stepping up to 12 furlongs for the first time, James Eustace does not feel this will be a problem. He has always felt the horse would be better over further and he will love the soft ground. The horse is really well at home and has come on from his Newbury run so should run a big race on Saturday.
SINGIN' THE BLUES runs on the same day and on the same track in a 6 furlong maiden race. He has come on from his last run at Nottingham but is still a bit of a baby and has further improvement in him. It will be a nice track for him to gain further experience on and the ground should be fine for him.
On Sunday KARKY SCHULTZ is set to make his seasonal debut over hurdles at Market Rasen. He is also entered at Sandown on Saturday but the ground is likely to be more to his liking on Sunday, he need soft ground. He has been given a proper break so he can have a proper campaign over hurdles this winter. In his last run over hurdles at Stratford he was fourth in a competitive handicap and it looks a less strong race on Sunday so he should run well.
