Gallant run by Geneva Geyser

Sunday, August 16, 2009
GENEVA GEYSER ran a very brave race yesterday finishing second at Newbury, beaten a neck. He made the running and did not give in when challenged by the eventual winner. On the right ground and track he is a horse worth following.
ROLEPLAY missed the cut at Wolverhampton last Monday so now runs at Yarmouth tomorrow over a mile. 7 furlongs seems her best trip but there are no suitable races at present. She does have form over a mile but only on the all weather, the question mark is whether she is as good on the turf. The ground should be fine for her and she is in good form at home so she could run well tomorrow.
On Tuesday WESTER ROSS makes his comeback after a long absence. He has been declared at Brighton and there are only 8 runners. The ground will be fast but he does go on top of the ground so that shouldn't inconvenience him. He has top weight and it is a competitive looking contest for that level. He had trouble with bleeding at the end of last year but has had no recurrence lately. He is working nicely at home and seems well so he could run well if handling the track. He will be campaigned over hurdles and the flat after this run.
