Geneva Geyser geared up for Goodwood

Wednesday, July 29, 2009
GENEVA GEYSER is running in the valuable 10 furlong handicap at Goodwood tomorrow. He has a tricky draw, drawn 1 of the 17 runners. This makes life slightly difficult for him as he does like to be up with pace. Hopefully he can break well and get across to the inside. He does not have to make the running but the aim will be to get him in handy position and ride a race from there. It is obviously a very competitive race but he is in good form at home and should run well. He is a top of the ground horse so would not appreciate any rain.
The opposite can be said for KARKY SCHULTZ who has been declared for Stratford tomorrow. he will only run if they get significant rain but they are forecast to get 33mm! If the ground becomes on the soft side of good he will run and should run well. He has been in good form on the level recently and his hurdle form is superior to his flat form. In an ideal world James Eustace would like all the rain to fall on Stratford racecourse and none at Goodwood to give both horses their best chances.
