Eustace looking to wage war with Artist tomorrow

Friday, June 26, 2009
James Eustace has been really happy with WAR ARTIST'S final preparations for his seasonal reappearance at Newcastle tomorrow. His work last Saturday was the best he has done all year, although he is not at his peak yet, he is definitely getting there and is fit enough to do himself justice. He has hopefully got enough class to win tomorrow and will come on for the run. It is 351 days since he last ran but the break seems to have done him good. He is moving better in his slower paces than last year and everyone is looking forward to seeing him run again. The only slight concern is the ground if it does rain. They have watered the ground well so any rain would make it go on the softer side of good, WAR ARTIST does seem to be at his best on fast ground. Richard Hughes takes the ride tomorrow so he will have every assistance from the saddle.
James Eustace also runs ON CUE at Lingfield tomorrow evening on the all weather. She is drawn wide which is not a good draw but it may suit her as she can keep away from the kickback. She is tackling 12 furlongs for the first time but she should get the trip. She is in good form at home so is in with a chance tomorrow.
