5 runners in next 2 days

Park Lodge Stables is very bust over the next 2 days with 5 runners at 4 different meetings. The 3 runners on Thursday are all owned by the same owner, Jeff Smith. The action tomorrow is all at Kempton. PENPERTH runs over 7 furlongs and is  not well drawn in stall 1. She ran very badly first time out this season at Yarmouth and there is no obvious explanation, she is definitely better than that. She has shown form on the polytrack before so hopefully on this surface she will put in an improved performance. KARKY SCHULTZ runs in a 1 mile 3 furlong handicap and has the best draw of 14 of 14. The plan will be to hold him up and get him settled. On his hurdling form he is quite capable of running well on the flat. The polytrack is an unknown but there is no reason to suggest he won't handle it. This will be his first run after a break but he should be fit enough to do himself justice. The plan with him is to mix jumping with the flat depending on the ground. If the ground stays soft he could run over hurdles this summer.
On Thursday INTEGRIA should have a chance at Newbury over 7 furlongs. He ran well over 6 furlongs first time out at Nottingham from a bad draw. This should be his ideal distance and he has been in good form at home. Ideally he would like the ground on the soft side of good but he should run well. FREEDOM FIRE heads for Nottingham to run in a mile maiden. He ran once last year as a 2 year old and was a bit colty and ran very green, he has been gelded over the winter. He is a big immature horse at the moment but should be a nice horse for the future. He should stay further than this in time.
The third runner of the day is SULTAN'S CHOICE at Yarmouth. She will be the first 2 year old runner of the season and she starts off in a selling race. She is a homebred filly and a bit on the small side. She has worked reasonably well at home and has worked above this level but as she is the first 2 year old runner it is hard to assess her ability too accurately. She would probably prefer the rain to stay away as she wouldn't want it too soft. She is drawn 1 of the 7 runners which is not ideal especially for an unraced filly. It would be better for her to have horses drawn both sides of her.
