Cavendish goes for big prize at Goodwood

Tuesday, July 29, 2008
CAVENDISH is running in the valuable 2 mile 5 furlong handicap at Goodwood tomorrow and is not without a chance. He has not run over further than 2 miles before but he has looked in his races to date that he will stay further. He has been running consistently well this season and was possible a shade unlucky at Newbury last time out when he was a close third. If they have a bit more rain it would help but the ground should be not as quick as it was at Newbury so he shouldn't be inconvenienced by the going.
RUBACUORI  may run at Nottingham on Thursday over 10 furlongs for the first time. The track and ground should suit him if it remains fast. The step up in trip should also be in his favour so he should run well.
