WAR ARTIST ran another great race on Friday in the July Cup at Newmarket. He led all the way but was headed inside the final furlong and finally finished third beaten less than a length. If the ground had been faster he might have just hung on but it was another top class performance. He seems to be showing more speed every time he runs so the Nunthorpe at York could now be his next race. James Eustace has several options and he could either follow a European and Breeders cup route or aim him for the global sprint challenge. It is a nice predicament to have but either way the York race in August is his most likely next race.
RUBACUORI will have his first run in handicap company at Great Leighs on Tuesday. He ran well enough first tiume out in a conditions race at Newbury and has come on for the run. A mile on the dirt at Great Leighs will be much more to his liking as that is the distance and surface he has won on in Brazil. There are only 8 runners on Tuesday and he has been working well at home so is expected to run a big race this time.
