First Brazilian runner tomorrow at Newbury

Wednesday, July 2, 2008
RUBACUORI, who has recently arrived from Brazil, runs in a 7 furlong conditions race at Newbury tomorrow. He has to run in this type of race as he does not qualify for a handicap mark yet despite having won 2 races in Brazil. He has settled in well and seems a real tough genuine horse. He has won over 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 furlongs so this should be the right trip for him. James Eustace is looking forward to seeing him run.
COLTON is declared at Yarmouth tomorrow in a 10 furlong handicap, he is a course and distance winner there. The less rain the better for him as he likes firm ground. If it does rain alot he will not run.
DOUBLE ON RED is running on the fibresand at Southwell on Friday, it will be her first run on this surface. The blinkers are back on for the first time since she was beaten a short head in them last year. It is not a strong race so if she handles the fibresand she should run well.
SECOND OPINION is the only entry on Saturday. She is entered at Leicester but will only run if there is sufficient rain to ease the ground.
