The Brazilians have landed

Wednesday, June 18, 2008
James Eustace has just been sent 2 horses from Brazil who both have good form in their native country so it will be interesting to see how they perform on english soil. The original plan with VALENTINO ROSSI was to run him off the plane, he was entered for Royal Ascot this Saturday. It has now been decided to give him a short break, as he ran recently in Brazil, and prepare him for The Ebor at York in August. The second horse, RUBACUORI, is a sprinter but will initially be hard to place as he doesn't qualify for a handicap mark despite winning twice in Brazil. He will have to run in a group or conditions race and depending on how he runs he may be given a handicap mark after one run. He has travelled well and could run in the next couple of weeks. Both horses look nice types and add an extra international flavour to the yard.
POCHARD is aiming to win her first flat race at Kempton this evening in a 2 mile handicap. James Eustace thinks she has one horse to beat, Whaxaar, so the forecast could be an advisable bet. She still seems very well despite a long season and she has got some previous form on the polytrack. The only worry is whether she will handle the tight track at Kempton.
