Cavendish going for the hat trick

Monday, May 12, 2008
CAVENDISH is aiming to win his third win in succession at Wolverhampton today.. He always runs well on this track and should run particularly well now he is running over a trip that suits him, he does have to defy a penalty though. He is also declared at Yarmouth tomorrow but he would have to win or go close for this to be a consideration. His wellbeing and the ground would also be major factors. They are watering there but with this glorious sunshine persisting the ground may be a bit on the fast side for him.
DOUBLE ON RED also has a chance at Wolverhampton today. There are however alot of unexposed fillies from the big yards in the race who may be on the upgrade. She is fit and well and ran a good race last time out. The drop back to 9 furlongs should suit her and she has run on the surface before and wasn't disgraced. She is by Red Ransom whose progeny do seem to run well on this surface.
There are 2 runners at Great Leighs tomorrow, both with chances. WHISTLEUPTHEWIND is having her first run of the season so may just need the run but she is really well at home and it is a 0-55 rated handicap so she should run well in this grade. AT THE MONEY is running in a handicap over 14 furlongs. It is a hot race but he should run well. He is reunited with Franny Norton who has won on him before and he will be wearing blinkers. The surface shouldn't hold any fears for him as it is riding on the slow side at the moment so more suited to horse that like a bit of cut in the ground.
There are plenty more runners during the latter part of the week too but we will update you on those once running plans are more certain.
