First run in a handicap for Szaba today

Monday, April 28, 2008
SZABA has her first run in handicap company today at Lingfield. She seems to have been fairly treated by the handicapper so hopefully she will will run a big race. She has been going nicely at home and 6 furlongs would appear to be the right trip for her. She didn't get home over 7 furlongs at Doncaster last time out.
DOUBLE ON RED heads for Bath tomorrow and different tactics are going to be tried. She didn't stay last time so she is being dropped back to 10 furlongs and the plan will be to get her settled in behind horses. She has worked well at home with these tactics but she is a keen filly so it will be a question of whether she will settle or not. If she does settle she should run well.
FLASH OF FIRE makes his seasonal reappearance at Pontefract on Wednesday. Like most of the other older horse he is likely to need the race. He will like the ground and hopefully 12 furlongs is the right trip for him as he appears to stay.
