AT THE MONEY got the new turf season off to an encouraging start finishing second at Pontefract on Tuesday. He was just beaten by a better handicapped horse on the day but finished 5 lengths clear of the third. The race he ran in was the first in a series of staying handicaps to be run at Pontefract and he got points for finishing second. James Eustace aims to run him in some more of the races in the series. The next one is called 'The Marathon' and is over a longer distance than Tuesday's race. It is on 21st April and is his next likely target as long as the ground is still in his favour then.
The next runner will be CAVENDISH at Kempton on Sunday. He is running over hurdles and it will be his first run in handicap company. He seems well and will run without blinkers again, James Eustace is hopeful of a good run from him. He is running in a 4 year olds an upwards handicap as, rather frustratingly, it is very hard to find such races for 4 year olds only.
