Encouraging debut from War Artist

Sunday, March 9, 2008
WAR ARTIST made a fine start to his career in England, finishing second at Wolverhampton yesterday. It was no disgrace to be beaten by Jack Sullivan trying to give him  7 pounds as he is a very good horse on his day. It was not only WAR ARTIST'S first run in England but his first run since last July so James Eustace expects him to come on considerably for this run and he will probably be better when dropped back to 6 furlongs. He will be entered  in the Cammidge Trophy, a 6 furlong Listed race, at the opening turf meeting at Doncaster. He will be burdened with a 10 pound penalty in this race.
AT THE MONEY is declared for Stratford tomorrow, weather permitting. The ground there is currently good and he would prefer more rain. A heavy storm is forecast. He is in good form and ran well last time out finishing second, he is only 1 pound worse off this time.
