War Artist to make English debut

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

WAR ARTIST is to make his English debut at Wolverhampton on Saturday. He is entered in the Lady Wulfruna Stakes, a Listed race over 7 furlongs. Jamie Spencer has been booked to ride him. He will have to carry a 7 pound penalty as he is a Group 1 winner but that should not be a problem. As far as James Eustace is aware he has not run on a polytrack surface before but he appears to handle it well at home and he will definitely handle the track, he is a very well balanced horse. If he runs as well as he has been working at home he will run very well.

POCHARD ran a very good race at Stratford yesterday finishing third, beaten less than 3 lengths. She was slightly unlucky not to have finished closer as she got squeezed out on one of the bends and lost her position. She again jumped really well and James Eustace was delighted with her. He will try and find another equivalent race for her, maybe over even further as stamina is not a problem.
