Quiet week at Park Lodge

Friday, February 22, 2008

It has been a quiet week at Park Lodge stables with no runners. AT THE MONEY and POCHARD both have entries on Monday at Hereford, Pochard is also entered at Plumpton. Their participation depends on the going, they both need soft ground. There has been no rain for several weeks now and with the recent cold weather the ground is drying up everywhere. Some course have resorted to watering which is unheard of in February.

The string are all coming on well, preparing for the turf season ahead. It is an exciting time of year, full of anticipation. At the moment the earliest 2 year old runner is likely to be JOE CASTER, a colt by Makbul. He will be the first 2 year old to do any significant work. He is home bred and a partnership called the GREEK MYTHS own him in training. They are hoping for an early start to the season. The rest of the 2 year olds are coming on nicely and the majority of them are now cantering on the Heath.
