Lady Avenger heads for Ayr

LADY AVENGER has had a break since Royal Ascot but is heading for Ayr tomorrow to contest the group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes. It looks a hot contest but she has been working well and should be fit enough to do herself justice. She is drawn 1 of 14 that is not ideal but hopefully the ground has come right for her. It is currently on the soft side of good with more rain forecast. She does need to get her toe in and any further rain will be to her advantage. James Eustace feels she has improved since the spring and is now a stronger filly. She is entered in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes in 2 weeks time so if she runs very well tomorrow she could be heading there next.

DOUBLE ON RED worked well yesterday morning so will run at Kempton on Monday. The only 7 furlong maiden fillies available were at Kempton and Beverley. James Eustace did not want to take her all the way to Beverley so the only choice in the south was Kempton. She has always worked well on the polytrack so she should handle the surface. The form of her Ascot race has worked out very well. She was disappointing on her last run but the ground could have been to firm for her or she just had an off day. She is expected to run much better on Monday.

FARSIGHTED put up a bold display at Yarmouth on Tuesday to finish third, only beaten a neck for second. Dale Gibson had done his homework on the track before hand and judge the far rail to be much faster. The tactic nearly paid off as she was a long way clear at one stage but just couldn’t quite hold on.
