This weeks runners spread across the country

It was very encouraging to see the 2 year olds run so well. HIGHLAND CASCADE’S win at Yarmouth was a great result and she now waits for a novice race back at Yarmouth on June 10th. ROMANTIC GIFT could only finish mid division last night at Windsor but she missed the break and then got squeezed out, after that she was just slightly outpaced. James has always thought of her as a 6 or 7 furlong filly so he was pleased with her.

Park Lodge is spreading the net far and wide this week, with runners from Goodwood up to Newcastle, and is hopeful of catching a winner with one of them. Today LAST APPOINTMENT and WELCOME STRANGER both run at Goodwood. WELCOME STRAMGER could run well as long a he handles the track. He has a good draw and the ground is coming right for him, he has been given no favours by the handicapper but will hopefully run a big race. LAST APPOINTMENT is in good form but it is his first run of the season so may just need it.

On Thursday there are 3 runners at 3 different meetings. ANATOLIAN QUEEN heads for Goodwood where she should run well. She has come out of the Kempton race well and if she can improve on that run she should be in with a good chance. EMPRESS EUGENIE goes to Newcastle and if she reproduces her Windsor form she should run well. She seems to have improved a bit at home and hopefully the ground will be considerably better than it was at Pontefract. Conditions are coming right for BLUE PATRICK who runs at Doncaster in a 0-80 classified stakes race. As he is now rated 80 this is an ideal race for him. He will appreciate the drying ground and the return to a mile.

MISTER AZIZ, a 2 year old, makes his racecourse debut at Kempton on Saturday and should run a nice race but will probably need the run. ANDURIL is entered at Leicester over a mile and a quarter on Monday where the track should suit him. He looked as if needs further when he ran at Windsor over a mile recently and now that he has learnt to settle he should stay the extra 2 furlongs.
