Game win by Farsighted at York

Saturday, July 28, 2007

James Eustace’s 2 year olds are running well and FARSIGHTED put up a game performance to win at York on Thursday evening. There was some doubt about the meeting going ahead but the jockey, Dale Gibson, had walked the course thoroughly beforehand and found the best ground on the inside rail. She led all the way and held on by a neck. It was a valuable prize to win for a race of it’s kind, £6500 to the winner. The owners, Blue Peter Racing 7, were well represented at York and they are justifiably delighted with this filly who only cost them 8,000gns as a yearling. DOUBLE ON RED made her eagerly awaited debut at Ascot yesterday and ran very well to finish 5th in a very good fillies maiden race. She looks to have a bright future ahead of her.

It is a quiet weekend with only one runner, ANATOLIAN PRINCE. He runs in a 7 furlong handicap at Lingfield on the turf. There are surprisingly only 9 runners. He has yet to find his form this season but hopefully he can put that right this evening. WHISTLEUPTHEWIND is entered at Yarmouth on Monday but may not get in the race. If she does she should have a good chance if the weather remains dry, she is a course and distance winner. She found a mile in heavy ground at Chepstow last time too far.
