The rain never stops

Thursday, July 26, 2007

The rain has played havoc with recent plans. Newbury was completely washed away last week and the prospects for this week arenít that much better. Blue Peter Racing 7 is hoping that York will survive on Thursday as a big turn out is expected to see FARSIGHTED run. She is running in a 7 furlong fillies auction race and should run well. It will be a hotter contest than her first race when she was a promising fifth but she has come on a lot for the run. CAVENDISH is hoping to be able to run at Folkestone on the same day in a 12 furlong handicap. That is one course that has so far avoided the rain but heavy rain is expected. He will only run if the rain does come as he needs soft ground. James Eustace was not planning to run him so soon after his hard race at Kempton last week when he finished third but he seems in good form. His turf form is better than his all weather so he should run well on Thursday given the right conditions.

DOUBLE ON RED is hoping to get a chance to run this week, she is entered at Ascot on Friday in a 6 furlong fillies maiden. She should run well as she is working nicely at home. KARKY SCHULTZ is having his first run in a nursery over 7 furlongs at Newmarket on Friday evening. It is a competitive race but he worked well on Saturday and should run well. POPPY PERFECT also runs on Friday. She is running in a fillies only selling race. She will be meeting the winner of her Brighton race again so will find it hard to beat her again but hopefully the surface will suit her better than it did at Brighton when conditions went against her.
