Hoping for a dry day at Brighton

Monday, July 16, 2007

James Eustace is hoping that the rain stays away from Brighton tomorrow as he runs 2 horses that both prefer fast ground. PERFECT POPPY has been found an ideal opportunity to break her duck as there are only 4 runners. She ran respectably on this course before and hopefully the experience of the track will stand her in good stead tomorrow. ARIODANTE was prevented from running at Brighton 2 weeks ago because of the soft ground. He is running in an apprentice race and will be ridden by Stephen Donohue who will be one of the most experienced riders in the race. ARIODANTE is a previous course and distance winner so must have a good chance.

CAVENDISH can hopefully finish the day off well tomorrow as he runs in the 9.15 race at Kempton. This will be his first run on a right handed track but there is no reason why he shouldn’t handle it. The surface shouldn’t be a problem either as he has run on the same surface at Wolverhampton and ran well. Despite what the press say, he is a genuine horse and should run well. He has the able assistance of Luke Morris in the saddle who still claims 5 pounds.

FARISHTED ran a very promising race at Nottingham last Thursday and looks as if she will give her enthusiastic syndicate, Blue Peter Racing 7, a lot of fun. She was a fast finishing fifth having been carried very wide on the track early on so had to come from a long way back. She could be out again next week at York.
