It is a fairly quiet Bank Holiday Monday with just one runner, POPPY PERFECT at Leicester. She is running in a 2 year old claiming race but it looks quite a competitive race on paper. Several of the runners have already got some form so she will probably find those with previous experience will have the edge on her tomorrow.
WESTER ROSS is taking his first step in handicap company at Sandown on Tuesday evening. He has been quite fairly treated with a handicap mark of 78 but it is quite a tight handicap. They have had a lot of rain there which should suit him but it could be softer than anything he has run on before. The race is over 10 furlongs which he won over last time but the rain and the track will put more of an emphasis on stamina this time.
There are entries at Yarmouth on Wednesday and Thursday but at this stage it is not possible to say who will be running due to the unsettled weather. There will be a mid week update. LADY AVENGER is an almost certain runner at Sandown on Thursday evening though. She is entered in the 5 furlong National Stakes, a Listed contest. If she runs well in this she could well head for the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot next. She seems to have come out of her first race really well and probably does need some cut in the ground which she is certain to get.
