Wester Ross wins from the front

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

WESTER ROSS, making only his third racecourse appearance, won nicely at Windsor last night. He took up the running after a furlong and was never headed. It was a very encouraging performance. James Eustace has always thought he was a nice horse and believes he will stay further than this trip of 10 furlongs. He is hoping that the handicapper is not too harsh on him after this performance. His next race will depend on what rating he is given. His owner, Peter Hillman, was present and was obviously delighted with this win. He could be in the winnerís enclosure again tomorrow at Bath as he also has a half share in DICTATRIX. She is a definite runner now as they have had significant rain on the track and the ground is now Good to Soft which will suit her.

There has been plenty of rain at York too where the ground is also officially Good to Soft and more rain is expected. ORCADIAN had a choice of 3 engagements but he will definitely go for the Yorkshire Cup at York on Friday. AT THE MONEY is running there on Thursday. It has been a good start to the week, letís hope it can continue that way.
