ASTROMAN heads for Haydock today to run in a 10 furlong handicap. He has gone there in search of decent ground as we feel he will appreciate being able to get his toe in so we are hoping for good or softer ground . They had rain overnight so the ground is currnetly good and there is a chance of further rain during the day. We were delighted with his win over a mile at Wolverhampton and we tried to follow this up at Chelmsford over the same trip but he had a terrible draw and never got into the race. We always planned to step him up in trip after that run and todays race seems the ideal contest for him but it does look very competitive. We think that the track, ground and trip will all suit him and he is well drawn in stall 6 so he could run a big race at a decent price.
