Ground change favours Directory tomorrow
Tuesday, September 24, 2019
After over 30mm of rain the ground at Goodwood has changed to soft which gives DIRECTORY an opportunity to run on his favoured ground on the turf. He has always run well on the all weather but has only had one chance to run on ground he likes on the turf when he was third at Yarmouth over a mile. We think it is possible he will get further so this race over 9 furlongs seems a logical stepping stone. He is a well balanced horse who should be suited to Goodwood too. His last run can be ignored as he was uncharacteristically slow out of the stalls so never got into the race. He usually breaks well though and is well drawn in stall 4. He has been in good form at home since his last race so we are hopeful of a good run tomorrow. If by any chance they get alot more rain though and the ground becomes heavy he wont run as we don't want to experiment over a longer trip on very testing ground.
