Mendoza can bounce back to form tomorrow

Wednesday, August 14, 2019
We were delighted with MENDOZA when he won at Kempton but he was very disappointing at Wolverhampton last time out. We are stepping him up to 7 furlong at Lingfield tomorrow and we hope he can bounce back to form. He was drawn 1 at Wolverhampton and he got a bit squeezed on the inside rail so that is a possible excuse for him. He is drawn 9 of the 9 runners this time which will possibly help him after his last experience. Although he won over 6 furlongs Ryan Tate did feel that he would stay further and he didn't appear to have enough early speed last time out so this extra furlong should be in his favour. He likes the polytrack surface so we hope he can bounce back to form after his disappointing run last time out.
POSTIE will make her handicap debut at Yarmouth tomorrow in a 12 furlong handicap. She is drawn 4 of the 13 runners and will be ridden by Hayley Turner. She has been running over 10 furlongs but she is a big long striding filly who should benefit from a step up in trip. She has previously worn a hood purely because she was a rather nervous filly at home as a 2 year old but she has not put a foot wrong on the racecourse so far so we have decided to leave it off this time. She will only run if the ground does ease as she need good or softer ground. There seems petty of rain around in most areas today so lets hope it has reached Yarmouth.
