It has been a good week for the yard with two winners, COVERHAM on the flat last Friday and APACHE SONG over hurdles yesterday. It was great to get off the mark for the year with COVERHAM. It was also the first winner of the year for Ryan Tate and Blue Peter Racing. It was a well timed victory as Blue Peter Racing traditionally visit the yard every Good Friday so COVERHAM will enjoy some extra treats this year for sure! He has come out of the race well and there are some good options for him over the next couple of weeks so hopefully he can win again. There are still shares available in him.
APACHE SONG is know as the 'family horse' as she is owned by my sister Katrina McGladdery, her husband Andrew and ourselves. It was great to see her win again and so convincingly. We were hopeful beforehand as she had been travelling so well last time out on similar ground when she was unfortunately bought down. She seems very adaptable as she has also won on good ground so that gives us more options with her. Trevor Whelan felt she had improved since he last rode her and that she will get further on better ground so we hope there will be more winning opportunities for the 'family horse'!
