Late night at Kempton tomorrow

Tuesday, September 12, 2017
COVERHAM and SEE THE CITY both run at Kempton tomorrow and are in the 8.45 and 9.15 races so it will be late night for all. COVERHAM runs in a mile handicap and is not favourably drawn in stall 12 of the 14 runners. He has been a very consistent and genuine performer all season. He has had a break to freshen him up and is in good from at home.  His biggest problem is due to his consistency as he has been raised 9 pounds by the handicap without winning a race. For that reason we have decided to take 7 pounds off his back by booking Rossa Ryan to ride him. He is a promising apprentice from the Richard Hannon yard. The draw is not ideal but hopefully Rossa's claim can help to overcome that. We hope he can get a bit of luck in running as he definitely deserves to get his head in front having done nothing wrong all season.
SEE THE CITY steps up in trip to 12 furlong.  He  is drawn 6 of the 13 runners and Ryan Tate takes the ride. He was disappointing at Sandown last time but we still think he is a nice horse and hope the extra 2 furlongs will help him. We are trying him with blinkers tomorrow as we have tried them on him at home so we think it is worth a try on the track. We hope the trip and the blinkers will help him but if it doesn't work out tomorrow we will think about trying him over hurdles.
