Whistleupthewind seeks hat-trick at Haydock

Thursday, July 6, 2006

WHISTLEUPTHEWIND is going for her third consecutive win at Haydock tomorrow night. She is carrying a 6 pound penalty for her latest success at Lingfield but has been raised 7 pounds by the handicapper for future races so in theory is 1 pound better off tomorrow. She appears to be thriving on her racing and seems in great form at home so James Eustace is very hopeful that she can complete a hat-trick of wins. The only slight worry is the weather forecast as rain is forecast today. She will not run if the ground does become soft as she clearly prefers fast ground.

DICTATRIX runs in the mile listed fillies race on Eclipse day at Sandown on Saturday. She finished distressed at York last time out and it transpired that she had a bacterial infection. She has had plenty of time to recover and has been working nicely recently so hopefully she is returning to form. James Eustace would just like to see her run well and back to form. She ran well at Newbury first time out this spring and if she could reproduce that form she would have a chance on Saturday.

COLTON makes the long journey to Ayr on Sunday but that is where the most suitable race for him is. He is running in a 3 year olds only mile handicap. He ran well over 7 furlongs at Newbury last time out, he settled well that day, the extra furlong on Sunday should be in his favour. The track should suit him well and a little bit of rain would be beneficial too. Rain would also suit CAVENDISH who runs at Windsor again on Monday evening. He took his first run well and has hopefully improved for that experience. He may find the 6 furlongs too sharp for him at this stage.
