Macksville steps up in trip

MACKSVILLE steps up in trip at Nottingham tomorrow. He runs in a 1 mile 6 furlong handicap and is drawn 13 of 17 runners. He ran a decent race last time out over 12 furlongs and looked as if a step up in trip would suit as he finished strongly . The ground will be alot different tomorrow though so that is bit of an unknown. He seems a workmanlike horse so will hopefully go on any ground and the ground was possibly fast enough for him last time out at Doncaster. He will be wearing cheekpieces for the first time tomorrow purely to help the jockey as he was hard work for the rider last time out but once he got going he ran all the way to the line. He is a very laid back horse so hopefully he will travel better with the cheekpieces on. If they do help and he goes in the ground then we are hopeful of a good run tomorrow.
