2 runners at Newcastle

WESTER LODGE and HIGHLAND CASCADE are heading for the big 3 day meeting at Newcastle, they both run there tomorrow evening. WESTER LODGE has been running well in decent company but the last twice he has been short of room to make his run when the pace has quickened. New tactics are going to be tried tomorrow to try and overcome this. He will be ridden a lot closer to the pace and will even make the running if necessary. The galloping track should suit him and so should the ground. It is a lower grade of race too than he has run in recently so he hopefully goes there with a good chance. HIGHLAND CASCADE ran well at Yarmouth recently finishing fifth, she meets the second in the race on better terms tomororw and James Eustace believes she has improved at home since that race. She is a very genuine filly so should run a good race again.

WHISTLEUPTHEWIND was withdrawn from her intended race at Chepstow last Monday as the ground changed from good/firm to good/soft during the day. She now runs at Lingfield on Saturday evening in a 7 furlong handicap. This is a drop back in trip but she showed plenty of speed over a mile at Yarmouth last time out so it shouldn’t be a problem. The form of the Yarmouth has worked out very well so she must have a big chance of recording a second win.
