Good efforts at Sandown

Thursday, June 1, 2006

Both LOCAL FANCY and AT THE MONEY ran very well at Sandown this week to finish third and second respectively. LOCAL FANCY put up her best performance of the season so far on Monday, she was only headed on the line and was beaten a Nk and a short head. She will be entered up again next week as she is in such good form and is clearly enjoying the soft ground. On Tuesday AT THE MONEY ran another gallant race to finish second, only beaten a length. He is also relishing the current underfoot conditions and does not know how to run a bad race.

Today the action is at Yarmouth where there are 2 runners. PRINCESS GALADRIEL has been recently scanned in foal to Doyen and it will be interesting to see if this brings about an improvement in her form. Some fillies do run better when they are in foal and she has run well at Yarmouth before so she could have a chance today. WESTER LODGE is running in a mile handicap on the same card and amazingly there are only 8 runners. This trip could be bit on the sharp side for him but it has been hard to find a suitable race for him and he is ready to run.

HIGHLAND CASCADE put up a poor performance at Pontefract last time out but she was not right after the race. She has come back to her best now and is due to run at Folkestone on Saturday in a 6 furlong fillies handicap.
