There are two runners tomorrow, CHIEF SPIRIT at Haydock and PENNERLEY at Pontefract. CHIEF SPIRIT runs in a 10 furlong handicap, he is drawn well in stall 2 of the 9 runners and Pat Cosgrave takes the ride. We are hoping to get good ground at Haydock for him. He has run twice over hurdles during the winter but didn't really shine in that sphere and has had a bit of a break since his last run. He seems in good form at home and is capable of running well in this type of race.
PENNERLEY runs in a fillies handicap over 10 furlongs. She too is well drawn in stall 3 of the 10 runners. Thomas Brown takes the ride and takes a valuable 3 pounds off her back. Although he has not ridden PENNERLEY before he has had a few rides for us lately and rides well. She has previously run in some very hot maidens, the form of them all has worked out well. She doesn't look unreasonably treated on 69 for her first run in a handicap and we expect her to run a decent race.
