ICE SLICE continued the good form of the flat string last night by winning by a narrow margin at Brighton last night. The flat horses are now showing a healthy strike rate of 30% which is now higher than the jumps string who also have a very good strike rate of 22%. If you had backed ICE SLICE you would not have been confident even a furlong from home but when he saw daylight he finished very well and Ryan Tate did well to get his head in front on the line. It was good to see the horse win again as he had an unlucky year last year and this will have done his confidence good. If we continue to get soft ground he could win again. He is entered at Nottingham next Tuesday which is a possibility but only if conditions suit.
